x = 2/5 + 1/2

x = 4/10 + 5/10

x = 9/10

b) 2x=9/14

x = 9/28

c) 7y+5=8-10y

7y + 10y = 8 - 5

17y = 3

y = 3/17

d) 3(x-3)+4=4x+1

3x - 9 + 4 = 4x +1

3x - 4x = 1 + 5

-x = 6

x = -6
