29 novembre 1812

It was clod windy day again, the thermometer about 15 degrée. there was snow from last night.I got dressed and after breakfasting on meat and fish i hid my food coffee sugar ham and my furs in my cache malking sure no coyote would find it.I put on my snowshoes and started another day of trapping lynxes foxes raccoons and hunting beavers in the rivers of the Rockies.I walked through the woods and set a few traps I noticed some very noble trees and I measured one of them: its trunk had a ten foot diameter. i soon reached a river a roaring torrent with great waterfalls and I walked along it for a while. I saw a great number of Indians moving along the other side of the river.

After taking off my snowshoes. I jumped over the torrent where the distance between the rocks was narrow enought. But my moccasins slipped on the rock and I was precipitated into the icy water. It was  a few seconds before I could recover myself in the current. I made a large fire to dry myself and walked back to my cabin.

I decided that next time I would make a raft...

    Weather conditions : Cold windy day, 15 degrees.

    What you did : After I breakfasted and dressed myself, I putted my snowshoes on and started another day of trapping in the rivers of the Rockies.
    Details about what you did : I noticed some trees and mesured one of them after I setted a few traps.
    People you met : Indians
    Animals you saw : Coyote, lynxes, foxes, raccoons and beavers (ce sont les animaux cités dans le texte et non ceux qui ont été "vu" par le personnage)
    Any unusual events : When I jumped over the torrent, my moccasins slipped on the rock and I fell in the icy water. Then I made a large fire to dry myself and after it I walked back to my cabin.
