    -the Jacksons were watching television.

    -the son,  was playing basketball..

    -two men in a dark blue car, were waiting outside..

    -miss eleanor mackenzie was working in the garden.

    -I was not having a bath, was doing my homework..

    -What were you doing ?

    2)

    -I was brushing my teeth..  (affirmative)

    -I was not ( wasn't ) talking miss!  (negative)

    -What were they doing ?  (interrogative)

    -The boys were playing with their dogs and Naomi was feeding the ducks. (affirmative)

    -But what was he doing on the roof ??? (interrogative)

    Explications:

    1)

    "were" pour le pluriel

    "was" pour le singulier

    2)

    "were" pour le pluriel

    "was" pour le singulier

    affirmative = positif

    negative = négatif (not / ne pas)

    interrogative = intérrogatif (?)

    wasn't = was not  mais c'est plus court (short form)
